In 1800, St. Madeleine Sophie Barat founded the Society of the Sacred Heart in France. Her purpose was to make known God's love, and her vision continues today in Sacred Heart schools. Independent but never isolated, every Sacred Heart school needs to feel the strength of belonging to a larger whole, of sharing principles and values, broad purposes, of hopes and ambitions.
