Country Day School of the Sacred Heart

The library is located on the first floor of the School House building. The area consists of a two story library and a computer lab.

In the library, there are four desktop computers and laptop computers for student use. Two additional desktop computers are available for catalog searching; one on the reference floor and another in the lower school library area. Additional computers are available in the computer lab during specified times.

Research at the Country Day School of the Sacred Heart library relies on a growing collection of print and non-print resources. The print collection begins with reference books and periodicals located on the top level of the library. The library houses nearly 6500 books and over 24 magazines and journals.

Middle School and Upper School fiction and non-fiction books can be found on the lower level tall stacks. The Lower School collection is located in the shorter stacks near the reading corner. CDSSH subscribes to Access PA, the Power Library, and additional databases. Computers

Both black/white and color printing and a pay-per-copy machine are available in the library. The Destiny library catalog system can be accessed at school or at home through the school website, Moodle, or by direct link

Lower school students visit the library once a week for book selection and library activities. Middle and Upper school students may visit the library during lunch, study periods or after school. The teachers of the Middle and Upper School students schedule library time with the librarian for instruction and research as needed.

The computer lab is equipped with 25 desktop computers and a smart board. Instruction in the lab is coordinated with classroom teachers, the computer teacher, and the librarian, providing an authentic learning experience for the student.
