A Comprehensive Approach
At Sacred Heart Academy Bryn Mawr (SHA), students take control of their college process early on - rather than allowing the college process to take control of them. Through a comprehensive College Counseling program, beginning in Grade 9, students and families learn about the intricacies of the college search, application, and selection processes, and are supported throughout the journey.
In addition to the process, students engage in thoughtful exercises and dialogue to help evaluate their interests and strengths, access their goals, and make wise decisions about their college choices. It is through this journey of discovery and comprehensive program, that students are able to make their best decisions for college and beyond.
Individual student and family meetings with Director of College Counseling are available to support the college process, so that it can be one of discovery and joy.

This fall, SHA was featured on CBS 3 Philadelphia during the morning and early evening news. The segment included extensive footage from our SHA College Boot Camp, an immersive week-long program designed to prepare Grade 12 students for the college Admissions process and the Common Application. Reporter Wakisha Bailey even donned a SHA blazer in the heat! View the broadcast.

Colleges on Campus
This fall alone, college admissions counselors from more than fifty colleges and universities - including three international - will come to SHA to meet with our students.
Out and About
Director of College Counseling Alan Paynter makes it a point to visit colleges and universities from coast to coast, throughout the year. Getting to know the colleges - and the colleges to know SHA - on a deeper level is critical in the SHA College Counseling approach.
